5 out of 5 stars Well suited for 3 yo, my son loves it!   July 25, 2010
Serious Reader (Massachusetts)
Like most Brain Quest sets, each set comes with 2 decks connected by a grommet which have roughly 60 pages of questions (plus other pages for parents) & then you turn it around & there is another set of ?s on the back sides of each deck. Most pages have 3 question/pictures per page. My son is 3 yrs & a couple of months and is considered at his daycare to be on target for his age so I wasn't sure if the 3-4 was going to be challenging enough. I am glad I went w/ the 3-4 it is perfect for his age. Concepts being questioned include, animal identification, letter ID, matching, identifying top, middle, bottom, machine identification (ie computer, vacuum), which 2 items belong together and a tricky one for him - identifying fruits vs. vegetables. Some of the questions that stumped him included 'It's getting dark, what should this driver turn on' - he said lights eventually but wasn't pointing at the headlights. I like that the answer questions visually show the correct answer, esp. in this case it illustrates better to them than my words. Another stumper for him was 'what did molly do wrong' when she buttoned her sweater up uneven. I am glad that I did not get the 4-5 age for him as this set seems accurately challenging for him, albeit he is on the younger side of 3.

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous Learning Tool   June 13, 2010
Snavely (NC)
Of every workbook or flashcard set I have seen this is the best. My daughter loves them. We can do as few or as many at the time as her attention span allows. My daughter is 3 and we are already up to the Kindergarten set after going through the preschool ones. I can't recommend them enough.

5 out of 5 stars Great teaching tool for parents any time   January 17, 2010
Riley Pringle (San Diego, CA)
On a trip, in the car, on the plane, or just at home.. a great fun teaching tool for you and your kids. I have purchased several of these throughout the years and they never get old.

4 out of 5 stars learning made fun   December 21, 2009
I. Vassos (Colonia, New Jersey USA)
I bought this for my 3 year old. He enjoys "doing" the cards and it allows me to see what things he does not know or understand so we can talk about them while playing a game. Every few days he brings me the cards and asks me to do some with him. To him it seems as fun as reading a book.

4 out of 5 stars Kids like, but get bored quick.   November 7, 2009
K. Duvall (Oregon)
I like the simplicity of all the Brain Quest items. My kids like going through them. It seems to be too easy for my 5yr old. My younger one likes doing this version. I have all of them from 2yr old up to kindergarten. My youngest does not stay focused for very long, it might just be him though. We will keep using them to learn a few new things and to make learning fun.
