A useless and mindless game October 12, 2009 Game lover 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game Fancy Nancy Big Easy Colorforms Game is absolutely mindless and useless; it's a lot like Ladders and Chutes, except it requires lots of space, and no any sense of any achievements. It actually doesn't matter if a child plays alone or with someone -- there is no fun in the game, no competition, nothing to learn. Waste of money and space.
My daughter's favorite bday gift July 16, 2009 K. M. Dente (Oakland, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game isn't perfect but it is by far my daughter's favorite birthday gift. She LOVES it. But she is three and this is her first game. She will play by the rules with an adult but otherwise she just loves to play with it. It is a good first game. She is learning moving pieces on a path and spinning, etc. Very simple.
Things to be aware of - The puzzle piece board isn't flat and does come apart. There are a ton of little colorform sticker things that get all over your house. And I agree with another reviewer, Candyland is a better game.
Awful June 6, 2009 Pet Vet Mom (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pretty awful spin & move game. Bought it for the theme - my daughter loves Fancy Nancy, but even she can barely get through a game because of the boredom. Spin the spinner, advance to that color, reach goals such as the King's Crown or Nancy's bedroom and collect colorform tiaras, ice cream sundaes, etc.... The only decisions to be made are which direction to take on the playing mat (which is oversized vinyl that won't lie flat and has to be fixed to the table or floor using fun tak to be at all useable). There are much better color-recognition games out there for young kids (Hiss, Cranium Cariboo to name a couple) and better themed games for a similar demographic (Littlest Pet Shop Hideaway Haven - though not a 5 star game, much better than this one). Save your money and look elsewhere.
Puzzle piece board too awkward May 26, 2009 just mommy (Detroit, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this game for our 4 year old who LOVES Fancy Nancy. She liked the object of collecting the colorforms and did pretty well following the rules. The big down side, is our game board is made of 8 big puzzle pieces. We played on the carpet and it was impossible to keep the board together. I haven't tried on a hard surface yet, maybe that will be better.
Save your Money March 11, 2009 John (Union, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a moronic game. I have few points why now one should waste their money buying this game.
1. The game is extremely boring for my 3 year old girls. The lose interest after the first spin.
2. The plastic game board does not work well since it has permanent creases and the game pieces are not heavy enough to weigh it down.
3. The game does not have a point or any interesting thing for the child to do other than spin a four color wheel to get a sticker in one of theFancy Nancy scenes.
Who ever is looking to buy this should keep their money. My girls love the books hated the game after the first time we played. I do not typically review items that I purchase, but thought this game deserved my attention. The only reason it got 1 star is because Amazon does not allow you to put in negative.
