| Customer Reviews: Inspiring film by a 15 year old with Autism April 28, 2010 Dr. Pat B. (New Jersey) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This film is truly inspiring. It was conceived by a 15 year old with
autism when he was just 15 years old. With the help of his mother, Taylor
Cross was able to interview over 65 different individuals who have autism.
Asking questions such as ?Do you like being autistic? and ?What do you
want to be when you grow up??, this film really gives a voice to those
with autism who may not have otherwise had a chance to tell their stories.
This film sheds light on the powerful stories of those with autism and
highlights the joys and sorrows behind the faces of autism. This film is
enjoyable for those who do or do not have autism as the mother-son dynamic
adds an extremely personal hue to the whole story. Since its release in
2006, this film has been seen around the world as Taylor and his mother
have traveled with it on a speaking and screening tour. Their story, as
well as their film, is truly moving. The film is very educational and
shows that autism can only be truly expressed by those who experience. I
would highly recommend seeing this film if you want to learn more and
follow an extremely interesting character in the process.
If you're interested in documentaries about people with disabilities,
I would also recommend ARTS: A Films about Possibilities, Disabilities and the Arts
