Great activity for toddlers... February 25, 2010 Southsidellyn (Minneapolis, MN USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow...I never thought playing with stickers wth a 24 month old could be so much fun. Kids this age naturally LOVE stickers, and this book helps focus that joy of making pictures stick on things in productive ways, as opposed to just sticking them on paper, furniture, or little brothers.
For a child this age, it is definately an activity that requires interaction, but that is what I find so charming. It is great for low key, focused attention time. My nehew and I get to chatter back and forth about the letters, numbers, colors, animal, motor vehicles, plants and etc...it is truly a bonding experience that we both look forward to on his visits. He enjys reviewing what we did previously almost as much as he enjoys ctively stickering. He developes hand/eye coordination, learns about object orientation, size and shape groupings, and so much more. I end up removing the sticker pages that coorespond with each section as we progress, rather than flipping back and forth. Perhaps an older child would enjoy flipping throuh, but it is too distracting for a two year old.
I highly recommend this book, and am already planning on purchasing more as we complete this one.
Every preschooler should have one! January 9, 2010 A. Raghavan (Northern Iowa) This is a fantastic resource and teaching tool for children. My 3 and a half year old has learned a lot and enjoyed himself every step of the way. It's a wonderful way to spend time with your child and teach them alphabets, numbers, beginners mathematics, colors and more. Every section includes small question and answer segments to challenge your child. While children can use this book independently, I think that they gain a lot more when parents actively engage in using this book. A must have for all parents!
Online to purchase my 3rd one! July 8, 2009 C. Freeman (La Quinta, CA) My son has gone thru two of these books. He loves finding the stickers, matching them to the pictures and putting them in place. Not to mention he is learning colors, numbers, shapes, and the names of his favorite trucks. He mastered it at 2 and just finished the 2nd one at 2 1/2. I'm online as we speak to buy the 1000 sticker version! Hopefully this one will last more than three weeks!!
Great for ASD kids! May 4, 2009 Kathryn (Culpeper, VA) This is a large book of very simple activities. My son is 4 and on the Autism spectrum. He knows his alphabet and numbers and is just now learning that words and numbers correspond to objects. So the activities are perfect for him.
The first activity is letters. "A" has shadows of apple, ant, etc, then you go to find the sticker and place it on the correct shadow. Then you talk about how they all begin with the letter A, etc. Don't worry if the sticker isn't placed propery, you can pull it up very easily and replace it! The pages are slick/sticker friendly. Amazing quality!
The stickers are all photographs (not drawings) of the items which is very good for Autism spectrum kids! The stickers are vibrant colors, crisp photos, and very cute animals.
The other activities are numbers, colors, shapes, animals, vehicles, +. I was thrilled to find this! My son loves it and I will be buying more for him!
Fun for kids April 15, 2009 Rhonda K. Fried Lots of fun for kids. But beware - there's an identical book with a different cover (which I also bought, not knowing that the only difference was the cover - and that it didn't have the CD).
