4 out of 5 stars Educational features a disappointment!!   April 21, 2010

My daughter loves this trampoline! She bounces like crazy. The foam on the handles is easily ripped or bitten off and the sound has NEVER worked right. It plays the same song over and over, and SOMETIMES counts in English. I have yet to hear anything in French, which is the main reason we chose this specific trampoline. I think it was a good investment, but if I had known the educational stuff wouldn't work, we would've gone with a less expensive version.

5 out of 5 stars Reduce your assembly stress - get a 10mm socket wrench!   March 28, 2010

We read the other reviews, and were a bit intimidated about the assembly. Once we got into it, though, it wasn't too bad. The instructions are atrocious. But, if you get a 10mm socket wrench instead of the piece of junk they give you, it will take half as long as the other reviews. Aside from assembly, our daughter can't get enough of this thing!

5 out of 5 stars I love the toy, but have had it only 2 months.   February 17, 2010

We originally bought this for our two year at Christmas but it's the four year old who loves it even more. During the day when I am cooking or cleaning-the two year old and four year old could often be found bouncing up and down on the trampoline while watching a tv show. They jump on it almost every day and I figure that's a pretty good way for them to burn off all that extra energy when we can't get outside to play! It was a little tricky to assemble but my wife and I did it in an evening and it seems pretty durable.

I have heard that the the red bungee cable often snaps. Others had written that it wears away by the grommets it was threaded through. I have seen no wear as of today. - this is a fun toy and I recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Super fun!   February 12, 2010

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our almost 2-year old daughter (only child) - paid ~$90 (including tax & shipping). She absolutely loves it and it's easy for her to climb on and off herself. Has buttons on the handle bar area that are interactive with the jumping (ie, counts and plays songs/noises) via a sensor under the jumping surface.

It takes up a good amount of space (a min 4-ft x 4-ft area) and is somewhat cumbersome to move around. Assembly is time-consuming (1-2 hrs), but has very good and straight forward instructions - attaching the jumping surface (via one bungee type cord wound around frame) was the most difficult part of assembly and requires 2-adults (only at very end), as the bungee cord is EXTREMELY taught.

Also, we built this in the basement a few days before Christmas and found out Christmas Eve that it was too big for our walled stairway (completely our fault for not thinking ahead) - a fairly "easy" fix was removing 2 of the 3 screws/bolts so the handle-bar assembly folded in just enough to fit up the stairs. Handle-bar assembly is an integral part of the frame (ie, jumping surface cannot be assembled without the handle-bars).

If you have the space, this is a great toy - can be an excellent outlet for built-up energy and will grow with them for quite a few years.

2 out of 5 stars Save your money and get a less fancy trampoline   February 11, 2010

My son, who LOVES to jump (like, was pretty much jumping out of the womb), received this for his 2nd birthday. At first, all was well, but after a few months of use I am mostly disappointed.

First, the assembly was a huge ordeal. It took nearly 3 adults to put it together, and then unfortunately we realized that it would not fit through the doorway of his room, so we had to unassemble and then reassemble in the room. So, for starters, put it together in the room where it will live because you are not moving it! It's huge and cumbersome - not a whole lot of flexibility. Although I suppose it's a good thing to be heavier, to keep it from flipping forward during use.

Second, and this is my big beef - the electronic component of the trampoline is useless. The sounds (it has several modes - music, silly sounds, counting, etc) are triggered by the child jumping on a sensor under the trampoline. You adjust the sensor location (height) by a cord, which is not terribly difficult to do but you have to CONSTANTLY move the sensor to get the electronics to work. My son is only 30 lbs, but every time he jumps the sensor slides ever so slightly, until eventually (like 20 jumps) it has slid too far down to be triggered. Then you have to take the child off, lay on the floor to unhook the cord and move the sensor, hook it back up...SUCH AN ANNOYANCE. The cord needs a toggle or something on it that you can position to prevent the sensor from sliding. Anyways, my son just jumps on it without the electronics now - and we could have bought any other trampoline for much less money that does that.

Third, it has a nylon cover that slips over the frame, presumably to keep the child's foot from slipping through the bungee cords that secure the trampoline to the frame. However, the cover isn't tight enough and it slides all over the place, exposing those holes, and really serves no purpose in preventing an injury.

For jumping only, this serves the purpose and I've never been concerned about it flipping. He still has a great time jumping on it, but I wish we had just purchased a cheaper one, without all the bells and whistles that don't work anyway.
