| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The zany characters who sniffle, soar and shriek through this book will help kids understand the concept of such emotions as joy, disappointment, boredom and anger. "The Way I Feel" will also show kids how to express their feelings with words. This delightful book is used in homes, classrooms, literacy programs and pediatric clinics across the country. "Finally we have a resource which teaches children how to articulate what they feel," wrote a health educator. The imaginative illustrations and superbly crafted verses are sensitive and free of bias and slang.

Ok book August 6, 2010 Southerngirl (DFW, TX) Based on the reviews, I thought this book would knock our socks off... but I just found it to be an ok read. The story line is simple and the pictures are cute, but it's not one that my daughter will insist that I read over and over.
As good as I remember...(Board Book) July 13, 2010 Jarucia Jaycox Nirula (Seattle, WA, USA) I nanny'd a couple of children a few summers back and I LOVED reading this book to them (they loved hearing it).
They were 5 and 2 at the time.
Their version was the hardcover book, and yes, it does have more feelings, but not twice as many.
I will purchase the hardcover when my infant son is a couple years older and doesn't want to eat the books I read to him.
In the meanwhile, he delights in the images and the reading experience. I think the little rhymes do an apt job of connecting the regular kinds of things kids do with the feelings that go along with the actions.
Also, my 4yo niece and 5yo cousin loved hearing this too.
Review from Books That Heal Kids April 13, 2010 Books That Heal Kids (USA) When it comes to the social and emotional growth of children, this just might be in my top five book picks. The Way I Feel was first released ten years ago and is as relevant today as the day it was published. I get a lot of, 'Yaaaas, I love that book!!' when I show the cover. Not only do they love the illustrations, but they relish the opportunity to discuss feelings and what to do with them. Yes, it may sound cliche for a school counselor to highly recommend a book about feelings but I have students who are desperate to have their emotions validated and heard. Author Janan Cain writes a thoughtful note to parents on the last page. She offers four suggestions to parents as they read The Way I Feel to their child. I'm so happy this is on my shelf to share with children.
Emotions covered: silly, scared, disappointed, happy, sad, angry, thankful, frustrated, shy, bored, excited, jealous, and proud.
Simple way to describe feelings to a little one. March 9, 2010 C. Lose (Highlands Ranch, CO USA) My 5 and 3 year old love this book therefore I love it also. It is very simple with great artwork. I would recommend it to someone who is trying to teach a little one how to use words for emotions. My girls also like trying to make the faces.
I feel good about "the way I feel" November 11, 2009 Ada Nunez (Aventura , FL USA) My five year old son liked it very much, I'm wanting him to aknowledge the way he feels so he can move his way up when things aren't of his liking. I go about it in a way that makes him aware of the positive aspects of any situation, this book helps with his starting point(what's the feeling?).
It is pleasant and the illustrations are funny.
